He is also well known for his regular television programs which include The Edge - 100 Years of Scottish Mountaineering, Wilderness Walks and BBC Scotland's The Adventure Show. He contributes a monthly column to the Scots Magazine. An honorary Fellow of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, he lives in the shadow of the Cairngorms with his wife Gina.
