McGinnis, Patty: - I am a life long educator and learner who believes all children have the right to learn in a respectful, engaging, and challenging environment. My philosophy was exemplified throughout my teaching career, and was integral to my work as a department chair, mentor, cooperating teacher, and curriculum designer. I currently serve as an instructional coach and professional learning facilitator by collaborating with educational professionals for the purpose of implementing effective pedagogies designed to improve student learning. I am engaged in the science education community through my work as editor of Science Scope, the National Science Teaching Association's journal for middle level science educators.
