"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength" that sounds wonderful! What things? Become a champion footballer? or a nuclear physicist? or a super model? or a rich tycoon? or the next president of my country? After all, the text says "all things," doesn't it? So why should we limit God?
Something tells us that there must be a fault in this interpretation, or else there would a superfluity of footballers, nuclear physicists, super models, and rich tycoons. But many Christians don't think very carefully about this.
