Suitts, Steve: - Steve Suitts is the author of Hugo Black of Alabama: How His Roots and Early Career Shaped the Great Champion of the Constitution and the executive producer of Will the Circle Be Unbroken, a thirteen-hour Peabody-winning public radio series on the history of the Southern civil rights movement. He was a staff member of the Selma Project, was the founding director of the Alabama Civil Liberties Union, and later was executive director of the Southern Regional Council and then program coordinator, vice president, and senior fellow of the Southern Education Foundation. He lectures at Emory University and is chief strategist for Better Schools Better Jobs, a Mississippi-based education advocacy program. He lives in Atlanta.
