By the way, the best way to read a technical or instructional book is to browse it first, noting items of interest and then begin to read. Keep a notepad to list key points that stand out to you. These items of interest will be the encouragement you need to keep you going when you might otherwise decide to quit. Your notes are your ticket to making the knowledge your own. You learn the material best by reading and writing!
This is a beginner's book. However, you will learn to play Major chords, how to find Inversions, and how to find the Minor and Diminished chords. You will learn about time signatures and keeping time.
There are easy rules and patterns that make learning to play by ear an attainable goal. You do have to practice - a lot - but it is fun and satisfying.
Learning to play by ear takes practice, but can be so much fun.
