A once useful fire engine aged out and was put to pasture, and a group from the community found a way to repurpose it and make it extremely useful in the community once again.

I have 5 amazing grandkids who have grown up around books and loved to be read to each night. I run a non-profit that helps first responders on scene of lengthy calls and provide rehab for them during this time. I spent many years working with young adults who participated in my fire explorer program. I was born in raised in northern california and love volunteering my time to help others. Christine the pink fire engine inspired this book as it is a way for us to connect with cancer patients, survivors, and families through their cancer journey. We allow our engine to be signed and have hundreds of signatures that we proudly display on her throughout our community. This lets people know they are not fighting their battle alone.
