Soon after takeoff from LaGuardia Airport in New York, a flock of geese flew into
Captain Sullenberger's plane and shut down its engines. This happened one cold
afternoon on January 15, 2009. With one hundred fifty-five people aboard Flight
1549, the plane began to lose altitude. Unable to reach LaGuardia or Teterboro
Airports in time, and without the power of his engines, would Captain Sully be able
to land his plane safely? Where would he find a place close enough to land? Find
