The Combat Diaries is a collection of true stories from veterans who served on the frontlines during World War II. Their stories include:

- A young fighter pilot who was among the few Americans to fly a British Spitfire into combat.
- A Navy combat diver ("frogman") who swam at night among the Japanese-held islands, defusing underwater mines, and setting demolitions to assist the Marines' amphibious assaults...
