Carole Lee Limata graduated from Queens College, New York in 1968. After taking her Nursing Boards that summer, she worked as a Registered Nurse at New York City's Metropolitan Hospital, and then, at the City's Premature Nursery Center at Elmhurst Hospital before moving to Northern California. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Sacramento State University, and earned a Master's Degree from the University of California at San Francisco in 1980. She is a member of the Nurses Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau International. Throughout her forty-year nursing career, Carole worked as a staff nurse, supervisor, maternity instructor and nursing director. In 2008, she retired from her final position as Supervisor of the Screening Programs at the Kaiser Permanente Genetics Department in Oakland, California. She is the author of two novels, Ellis Angels and Ellis Angels on the Move.
