Freedom is a fantasy...Or is it?

Abandoned by my family and left behind in my own personal hell, I know there is nothing out there for me beyond the remote, isolated trailer park I grew up in. Nothing but the occasional solace I find at the old, run-down truck stop that sits mostly empty off the deserted stretch of highway a few miles from here.

Could that very truck stop hold my ticket out?

Or is the devil I know better than one that I don't?

Stopping at the crusty gas station in the middle of nowhere had more to do with my pressing need for a cigarette than anything else, but when I encounter a pair of angel eyes and a split lip, my past suddenly collides with the present. Convinced it will somehow make things right, and exercise the ghosts that still haunt me, I make a split second decision that rocks both our worlds.
