Ari M. Beser is an American freelance writer, photographer, and videographer. Beser is a Fulbright National Geographic Digital Storytelling fellow, currently based in Japan. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in political science in 2011-the same year he received a grant to write a book about both of his grandfathers' experiences with the atomic bombs used by the United States in Japan during World War II.

Beser has traveled to Japan three times and interviewed more than forty survivors of the atomic bomb. In 2013, he interned at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and later joined Peace Boat's eightieth voyage, which took nine survivors around the world to give testimony in various ports.

Additionally, Beser completed a yearlong fellowship at the Agahozo Shalom Youth Village, in Rwamagana Rwanda, working with youth who were orphaned during the genocide. While there, he taught students who have never used a camera before how to take pictures and video, and to create their own television programs.
